Artist Don Munz was born in San Francisco and raised in Northern California. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree with honors at California Art Center College of Design. He then went on to California State University at Los Angeles to receive his Masters Degree and a California Lifetime Teaching Credential.
Following graduation, Don taught art and design in the Art department at Pasadena City College for nine years. His next move was to a small village in the San Bernardino mountains where he designed, printed and marketed his original serigraphs to a world wide clientele.
Returning to the Pasadena area, Munz incorporated his expertise as a colorist into oil painting. His focus turned to plein air landscapes, using Impressionist techniques to capture views of nature as it still exists today, away from the urban scene. He is an artist member of the California Art Club ( the oldest art club in California ), and the Oil Painters of America annual show.
