Moxy Washington, DC Downtown
The Marriott’s property brand The Moxy is all about city-centric, art-focused, Instagrammable moments, and our art consultants at Kevin Barry Fine Art helped outfit their new Washington D.C. location with double tap-worthy visual elements.
Design Firm: Dash Design
Taking design cues from the iconic visuals of our nation’s capital and stirring in high-energy art that reflects the youthful feel of the city’s nightlife, if The Moxy DC was a cocktail it would be a Paloma — effervescent and sparkling with bright splashes of color.
From the bike handlebars mounted on the wall in the public spaces to the patriotic-with-a-hot pink twist lobby decor, the hotel art at The Moxy doesn’t take itself too seriously and invites the guest in for a fun visit full of unexpected touches. The free spirited art continues in the individual guest rooms with framed whimsical photographs evoking memories of last year at Coachella or a wild dream of superheroes in flight.
The next time you’re in Washington D.C., take a selfie with the pencil board art installation, or sit awhile underneath an artful cluster of hanging lightbulbs for a bright idea. Whatever the reason for your visit to D.C., The Moxy will show you a good time.
“Over the past couple of years, Washington D.C. has become a youthful, vibrant city that has a lot to offer travelers who are looking for a unique and dynamic hotel experience. The Moxy brand is all about attitude, vibrancy and funk, so opening one in the heart of D.C. was perfect. We’re big fans of their work across the globe and we love that we got to be part of bringing this project to life.”
